West Europe Test Site (S and FR)
The Western Europe Site Test (WEST) is located in the west of France and in Spain. It comprises a set of different and complementary sections of different types of network such as real-world road sections, and test tracks.
Locations:
- A section of A10 motorway, south west of Paris
- A 1.7 km tunnel in Angers on the A11 motorway (to be opened in 2008)
- Sections of rural roads in the Brittany Region operated by Conseil Général des Côtes d'Armor
- Sections of the urban roads of Valladolid (Spain)
- A14 km test track (VESTA) near Versailles
- A Renault Spain test track in Valladolid
Installed infrastructure:
- Traffic sensors, variable message signs
- infrastructures communication nodes
- traffic management center
Functionalities to be tested:
- A number of V2V and V2I applications in highway, urban and rural scenarios.
